Building on the success of a VITA scheme in Manchester, this project was negotiated directly with the client.
The high-end development provides 496 studio apartments across two connected blocks of 12 and 14-storeys. Communal study, fitness, social areas, courtyard gardens and a 102 cycle storage bays are also included in the scheme.
Our scope of works included:
- Management of design from RIBA Stage 2 partnering with the client to develop the high-quality, bespoke development
- Supporting the client to achieve funding for the project
- Accelerated pre-construction programme and phased handover strategy to facilitate the arrival of students in September 2022 for the new academic year
- Enabling works included demolition of existing buildings
- The-storey curved podium at ground level with two sculptural towers above
Social value plans included:
- Spend of £4m with sub-contractors within the Coventry City Council area
- Employ 25% of workforce from within Coventry City Council area
- Employ five people from NEETS background
- engage 15 apprentices
- Provide two work experience placements for local young people
