How We Act

Supply chain

Our supply chain is integral to the success of each and every project. Every one of our suppliers is an important member of the Bowmer + Kirkland team and their health and wellbeing is vital to the success of our projects.

We have invested in LifeSpeak – a mental health and wellbeing app – available to all our team, including our all our supply chainLifeSpeak is a major investment for Bowmer + Kirkland and offers expert advice and help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LifeSpeak consists of an extensive collection of expert-led videos, blogs, audio podcasts, tip sheets and learning programmes. Everything is completely confidential and posters on site will enable operatives to scan a QR code which will take them straight to the B+K LifeSpeak platform.

We have to be sure that their skills, training, values and financial stability match ours. We maintain a close relationship with all our approved sub-contractors which enables us to continually improve through collaborative working and lessons learnt.

We continually look to enhance our supply chain and welcome approaches from new suppliers.

Before we can accept you, we need to satisfy ourselves that you will deliver the programme, cost and specification requirements in a safe manner with client satisfaction as your main focus.

We have a standard questionnaire which recognises reputable sector Health & Safety schemes, if you are SSIP, SafeContractor, Achilles or OHSAS18001 registered (with a UKAS certification body) you are only required to complete half the questionnaire.

If selected to work for Bowmer + Kirkland there are certain standards required, it is important to us that these are well understood for the benefit of all parties. As a Partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, all of our projects are registered, all site operatives are expected to conduct themselves with the utmost respect for the local community on and around the site.

There are additional requirements for specific trades, e.g scaffolding. Further information can be obtained about your trade from safety@bandk.co.uk.

In addition there may be specific requirements for individual projects such as BREEAM, waste targets, health & safety targets or requirements to provide local labour. Any such requirement will be explained prior to appointment.

Please send completed questionnaires to general@bandk.co.uk and our supply chain team will be in touch.
