Operations and Maintenance Building, Dogger Bank Wind farm

Operations and Maintenance Building, Dogger Bank Wind Farm

Our Net Zero Carbon Operations and Maintenance Base for Dogger Bank Wind Farm has been shortlisted for three awards at the Constructing Excellence in the North East Awards – Net Zero Project, Sustainabilty and Project of the Year.

Sustainability was at the heart of the project at The Port of Tyne.  Environmentally-frendly engineered timber with a full chain of custody (from a sustainable or well-managed source, biodiversity considered throughout the forest management system and forest workers treated fairly) was used for the scheme. It also  positively impacted the region’s economy with £7.5 million reinvested across the North East.

When complete Dogger Bank will be capable of powering six million homes and the wind farm will create more than 200 direct jobs in the North East.
Bowmer + Kirkland has also been shortlisted at CENE in the People Development category. Something to be very proud of. Good luck to our North -East team at the ceremony on June 16.
