Operatives on our site at Bolder Academy, Isleworth are being encouraged to improve their skills and knowledge through a new e-learning hub.

B+K’s Considerate Constructors e-learning hub enables site workers to increase their knowledge of best practice by completing a range of courses offered online.

There are eleven varied courses available including mental health awareness, air pollution, preventing illegal working, women in construction, respecting the community and more.

Each course consists of a learning module, a summary of key points, mini case studies and a short quiz to test understanding.

All courses are free and offered to any operative working on the academy project which is being built for the Department for Education.

When a course is completed a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate is issued by B+K. Courses can be undertaken during breaks on site and the e-learning hub makes learning and up-skilling easy and convenient.

B+K Project Manager, Alex Reynolds, said: “We set up the e-learning hub to give our contractors the chance to improve their skills and knowledge in quiet, clean surroundings and in a conveniently located facility.

“It is proving very popular. We are giving our team the chance to gain further knowledge and strengthen their understanding of the industry’s code of practice. It benefits all concerned as a better informed workforce ensures that Bowmer + Kirkland’s high standards of safety and quality are met.”

Considerate Constructors Scheme Chief Executive, Edward Hardy, said: “The e-learning courses are a fantastic resource for any site manager, contractor, supplier or client looking to improve their knowledge of the scheme, as well as helping to achieve the ultimate aim of improving the image of the industry.”
