Our team and the volunteers with some of the planters

Digging deep for their local community, the project team at our Ark Ed City site in West London worked hard to deliver a communal garden and vegetable growing area for their local community centre.

Led by Site Manager Jack Topham and helped by sub-contractors Panoramic Landscape Contractors and Powerday, the team planted six raised planting beds, installed a fully stocked gardening shed and undertook general maintenance works.  Additional work included adding two leaf stores, bird feeders and boxes, as well as fixing swing sets and creating additional planting areas. These spaces provide areas for the center to grow its own food, increasing its sustainability, as well as providing an area for active engagement for the refugees, migrants and asylum seekers using the center.

A total of 10 volunteers, helped by staff from the West London Welcome community centre, came together to complete this project.

This is a great example of how we can have a positive impact on the communities in which we work.
