The B+K team

The ninth B+K-sponsored Derbyshire Brain Game raised almost £42,000 for Marie Curie UK. All of the money raised will go directly to helping terminally ill patients and their families and the amount raised at this weeks’ event will pay for 2,051 nursing hours.

The Brain Game brings together Derbyshire businesses for a three-course dinner, general knowledge quiz and auction and this year the guest quizmaster was actor Tom Chambers who was born and educated in the county and has been in many TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, which he won in 2008.

Our team for the evening didn’t quite manage the first place we achieved last time, but came a creditable fourth equal, only three points behind the winners.

Over the past nine events, the Derbyshire Brain Game has raised an amazing £316,000 all of which has paid for Marie Curie nursing hours.
