Department for Education Contractor of the Year Award presentation

The Department for Education’s inaugural awards presentation for their framework contractors was a successful event for our team as we were named ‘Contractor of the Year’ for the High Value Band of works.

The award is in recognition of our approach, culture and success in bidding and delivering schemes.

We were appointed to the Department for Education’s National Framework in 2013 and Regional Framework in 2014 and have since delivered 44 schools with a value of £581.5m

The award – for projects worth over £12m – was presented by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Education, Lord Agnew and was voted for by members of the Department for Education, along with representatives from the DfE’s Technical Advisor firms.

B+K’s Framework Directors Chris Arno (left) and James Vaux-Anderson are pictured receiving the award from Lord Agnew.

Chris said: “We are honoured to have received this distinction from the Department for Education. While James and I were there to receive the award it has been a collective effort by our pre-construction and delivery teams. Their hard work, commitment, tenacity and engagement with the framework process over the last five years has enabled us to win this award. They should all be very proud of themselves.”
