B & K Steelwork Fabrications Ltd and it’s trading division B & K Timber Structures have now become B & K Structures Ltd. A new name the same excellent quality and service, but now providing a unique package of design, supply and construction management, for engineered structural timber and steel constructions, either as a hybrid or in conventional construction, we are actively supplying to projects as diverse as education, leisure, health, commercial, transport and retail.
We have further developed our structures offer by adding X-LAM (Cross Laminated Timber), in 2009 in addition to Glulam, Structural Steel these options makes us ideally placed to provide the most competitive and sustainable solution for commercial projects.
Recent projects include educational facilities such as Broadfields School, Joseph Rowntree School and Birchen Coppice School, we have completed transport projects in the form of Derby Railway Station, West Ham Bus Garage and Feilden Street Car Park, and numerous projects for the major supermarkets. With our new X-LAM product we are currently working on Wellington Academy, The Woodland Trust Headquarters and Scunthorpe Sports Academy and we have just completed Uppingham School.
Our experience in balancing the sustainability offered by engineered timber with the commercial reality of current market conditions and thus the use of steel B & K Structures can offer the best solution for your scheme. We have introduced a Carbon Calculator in 2009 to establish the precise environmental credentials of a proposed building using a range of structural materials and offer a post contract environmental certificate to show the carbon reduction by project.
