The project involves the design and construction of the main centre buildings and associated ancillary buildings at the new Center Parcs holiday village in Woburn, Bedfordshire.

The development is split across two principle sites and a number of ancillary locations across the village.

The ‘Village Square’ comprises the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and the Leisure Bowl. The Subtropical Swimming Paradise houses a number of feature pools including a wave pool, toddler pool, lazy river ride, family play features and jungle river rapids. The pools are serviced by changing village alongside with retail outlets and restaurants fronting onto the village street. The Leisure Bowl features a 10 lane bowling alley, bar and discotheque, gaming areas, restaurants, food and beverage outlets, retail outlets, guest services area and staff facilities. The two buildings are positioned alongside the village street which features an extensive recycling water feature, landscaping, paving, cycle parking facilities and children’s play area.

The ‘Plaza’ is located a few hundred metres away from the ‘Village Square’ along the natural valley that crosses the site. The ‘Plaza’ includes a 75 bedroom hotel, spa, conference centre, sports hall, squash courts, climbing wall, sports bar, 6 lane bowling alley, supermarket and ancillary areas such as staff accommodation and extensive catering kitchens. Externally there area around the Plaza I are extensively landscaped with water feature, paving, cycle parking areas and tennis courts.

Adjacent to the main lake, we have constructed the new ‘Pancake House’ restaurant. This restaurant is suspended on stilts to elevate it above the general ground levels. Next door to the Pancake House, a new Watersports centre has also been provided.

In addition to the main centre buildings, the contract included the construction of a number of ancillary buildings across the village including the Arrivals Lodge, Cycle Centre, Outdoor Activities Centre, Technical Services Building, Housekeeping Building, IT Blocks and Grounds Maintenance Stores.

The new village features a number of sustainable features including a village wide district heating scheme, energy centre with biomass boilers, full LED lighting throughout and on site waste treatment and recycling facilities. During the construction works we have engaged in a number of local initiatives ranging from the erection of specialist bird boxes through to educational visits from local schools & colleges
