The new facility forms part of the PCT's strategic aims for the region to improve the delivery of care to the community and to meet the requirements set out in 'National Standards - Local Action' part of which is major redevelopment and redesign of the way in which healthcare is delivered.
The new Health Centre will also accommodate complimentary services, such as Pharmacy & Optician practices within the retail space of the development.
The building also contains multi storey car parking as well as retail outlets at ground level.
