The construction of an insitu concrete framed six storey building, forming three wings with approximately 6,000 sq m gross floor area.

The area of the site on the corner of Hanover Way and Leavygreave Road has been developed to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the University's History and English departments, and the School of Modern Languages and Linguistics.

The departments each occupy a 'leg' of the new building, with shared facilities available to them around the central core. A café is located on the ground floor of the new building and is open to all.

The new Campus Visitor Centre is located in the building, providing a one-stop-shop for visitor enquiries.

Sustainability is the watch word for the new development, with a range of environmentally friendly elements built into the design including a bio-diverse green roof covering.
