The B&K Academy is launched

At Bowmer & Kirkland we appreciate the contribution made by staff to the continuing success of our business.

We recognise the value of professional, loyal and motivated staff and that attracting and retaining high-quality people is a priority.

There is a huge skills gap in the construction industry and with this in mind Bowmer & Kirkland has launched The B&K Academy.

It is hoped this will:

• Raise the profile of the employees completing training courses and encourage a learning and achievement culture.

• Develop a showcase platform of the Group as an employer of choice making it even more attractive to existing employees, students and graduates.

Group Chairman, John Kirkland, said: "I am delighted to announce the establishment of The B&K Academy, which will be a centre of excellence for career-long learning.

"It will enable all our staff to be all they can be and ensure their personal and professional development during their career with Bowmer & Kirkland.

"I am very proud of all our staff and what we have achieved together over the years and I know that this project will lead to an even greater level of satisfaction for our clients."

Training and development needs will be analysed and carried out by the Academy or partner colleges, universities or any other training provider. The inaugural event of the Academy was held this month to reward the 35 employees who achieved a vocational qualification throughout the year from August 1st 2006 to July 31st 2007.

The students are pictured with Robert Kirkland at the event where they were presented with leather document wallets and certificates to mark their inclusion into the Academy.
