Bowmer & Kirkland staff are helping to put a smile on the face of disadvantaged children in need this Christmas.
They have taken part in Operation Christmas Child which encourages people to fill shoe boxes with gifts for children who otherwise wouldn’t receive any presents at Christmastime.
B&K staff and their families have filled 87 boxes with goodies which are now on their way to children in Liberia, Romania and Belarus.
Paula Marchbank, who works in the B&K accounts department, has been co-ordinating the collection and said: “Once again a big thank you to everyone who supported the Shoe Box Appeal by generously donating filled shoe boxes, gifts, donations, raffle prizes and purchasing raffle tickets.
“This has been a record year. The proceeds of the raffle enabled us to fill 32 boxes, which when added to the number donated by colleagues came to a magnificent total of 87 boxes.”
This is the third year that staff have been donating money and shoe boxes to the appeal – and it is the biggest and best yet.
