Bowmer & Kirkland has been awarded a £25m project to transform part of the earliest railway works in Britain into stunning new facilities for Derby College.
The Roundhouse at Pride Park in Derby, is a Grade II* Listed building treasured by local people and English Heritage, but it has been neglected for many years.
This project will see it transformed into 7,800 sq m of facilities plus new additional buildings of 6,800 sq m.
The Roundhouse was built in 1839 for North Midland Railway. It was used for locomotive repairs and had a central turntable.
Work is due to be completed by March 2009.
