A £65m distribution facility built by Bowmer & Kirkland has won the Best Bespoke Development category in the Industrial Agents’ Society Awards.
The 800,000 sq ft, fully automated facility at Worksop, was built for B&Q Properties and offers nationwide distribution to all B&Q stores.
The building, which is on the site of the former Manton Wood Colliery in Worksop, was awarded a BREEAM ‘certificate of excellence’ by the Building Research Establishment, which recognised sustainable and environmental initiatives incorporated into the project.
On completion of the project, B&Q Property Director David Childs called the B&K team "awesome" and said: "The project team has been the best my staff has ever worked with".
