Lifetime Achievement Award for Director

The region’s property elite were in the spotlight at the East Midlands’ Property Dinner, none more so than our Group Director, Ralph Jones, whose successful career was recognised by the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ralph joined Bowmer + Kirkland in 1978 as a quantity surveyor and is now a main board director. He has successfully built up the group’s Peveril Securities division into a national developer, with schemes across Britain. Recent joint ventures include a scheme in Edinburgh with Standard Life and a retail development in Hayle, Cornwall. Schemes more local to Peveril Securities’ Derbyshire office include 100-acre sites at Toton and Lily Street Farm in Alfreton, adjacent to the A38, which have both recently received consent for large mixed use schemes.

Ralph also started our house-building division,  Peveril Homes, which is one of the leading firms in the East Midlands and now building over 300 homes a year.

We also won Project of the Year for our work with architect Church Lukas on Cygnet Wharf student accommodation for Lincoln University. This was a very complex scheme with many challenges, including the presence of a major road on one side and a river on the other.  A well-organised, innovative approach meant neither of these important thoroughfares were significantly disrupted during construction work.

The dinner, which was compered by rugby and TV star Matt Dawson. is a highlight in the East Midlands’ property sector and was held at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.
