We have successfully won a place on the government’s framework for construction of new schools in England

We have been successful in winning a place on the government’s £8bn framework for the construction of new schools in England.

The framework replaces the existing procurement structure launched in November 2013 and comprises 22 lots split into values and regions across England.

Bowmer + Kirkland secured places on 12 of those lots, including a place on the biggest package – the high value south lot with a value of £2.6 billion.

The success means that Bowmer + Kirkland can bid for future work from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) which will continue to roll out its programme of new school buildings across the country.

B&K were one of the main contractors selected by ESFA for the previous framework in 2013 and through that has so far constructed 32 projects with a total value of £356 million.

B&K Group Chairman, John Kirkland, said: “This is great news for us all. To win a place on the second framework is testament to the hard work our teams have done on the first wave of schools.

“I am particularly pleased that Bowmer + Kirkland will continue to be involved in helping to improve the lives of school children across so many areas of the country.”

Other regional lots secured by Bowmer + Kirkland include North East and Yorkshire, West Midlands, South West, London, East of England and North West.
