The Bowmer & Kirkland Group is committed to developing procedures to implement sustainable practices that help to ensure the wise use of all resources within a framework in which economic, social and environmental factors are integrated The procedures are to complement the Group’s Integrated Management System by ensuring the Group’s activities do not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
We recognise the contribution we can make to delivering buildings which have a reduced impact on the environment. It is important to consider not only the construction operations but the environmental impacts of materials and transport, the use of the building and what happens to the building at the end of its life. The main opportunity to reduce the environmental impact of a building is during specification, where this is not directly under our control we use our experience to advise clients what can be achieved. We also aim to ensure sustainable techniques and materials are employed in all of our buildings where there are no cost implications to the project.
